The 122-hectare development site for a new container terminal will (subject to planning) also be capable of being temporarily used by offshore wind developers. This will create a new dual-purpose deep-water terminal with significant operational land and capability to stimulate both an innovative cluster for offshore wind developers, turbine and foundation manufacturers, and their supply chains - and for container handling; use of the container port platform for green energy projects on a temporary basis is subject to approval by the local planning authority.
