The impacts on the nature and sensitivity of the existing environment of the development (including the reclamation) have been assessed. For the temporary use of the port platform as a green energy hub, further surveys and assessments have been undertaken. An environmental impact assessment will be submitted with the planning application focused on the temporary use of the port platform for green energy use, in addition to the approved container terminal use.
There is an agreed compensation and mitigation plan, there is ongoing dialogue with regulators to ensure that new transport infrastructure, habitats, planting, translocation of species, ongoing monitoring and reporting will be implemented and managed effectively as required under the planning conditions and section 106 agreements.
